- In response to the coronavirus outbreak (Covid-19), H. E. the President directed the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to coordinate with the MMDAs to enhance conditions of hygiene in markets, lorry parks and other public places across the country in order to contain the spread of the virus.
- Following directive, a number of activities were initiated including the disinfection of markets, lorry parks, public places and public education and sensitization of market women COVID-19 between March and April, 2020.
- H. E. the President has further directed the ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to undertake quarterly disinfection, fumigation and cleaning of all markets, lorry parks, public toilets and public places in the country.
- In view of this, you are kindly requested to coordinate with the MMDAs in your respective regions to undertake phase two of the exercise from July to August, 2020.
North East Region’s Exercise would come on Saturday 25th July, 2020. Exercise would be undertaken by Team 1.
