{"id":83,"date":"2019-01-24T02:54:44","date_gmt":"2019-01-24T02:54:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/emma.gov.gh\/?page_id=83"},"modified":"2019-03-08T20:06:11","modified_gmt":"2019-03-08T20:06:11","slug":"trade-industry-tourism","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/emma.gov.gh\/index.php\/trade-industry-tourism\/","title":{"rendered":"Trade, Industry &#038; Tourism"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>.<\/strong>(1) The Department of Trade, Industry and Tourism shall under the guidance of the Assembly deal with issues related to trade, cottage industry and tourism in the district. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(2) The Department shall <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>assist\nin the formulation of policies on trade and tourism in the district within the\nframework of national policy and guidelines; <\/li><li>facilitate\nthe implementation of policies on trade, industry and tourism in the District; <\/li><li>advise\nthe District Assembly on issues related to trade and industry in the district; <\/li><li>assist\nin the <ul><li>collection and dissemination of tourism, trade and\nindustry, statistical data and other information, and <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>prevention of smuggling in collaboration with\nagencies responsible for internal security, Customs and Excise; <\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>prepare\nand submit half-yearly reports on tourism, trade and industries to the District\nAssembly; <\/li><li>assist\nin sourcing funding to support the implementation of&nbsp; programmes and projects to promote trade and\nindustry in the District; <\/li><li>facilitate\nthe promotion and development of small scale industries in the District; <\/li><li>advise\non the provision of credit for micro, small-scale and medium scale enterprises;\n<\/li><li>assist\nto design, develop and implement a plan of action to meet the needs and expectations\nof organized groups; <\/li><li>co-ordinate the organization of field extension\nworks to identify projects, collate relevant data, disseminate information and\nprovide feedback information; <\/li><li>assist\nand facilitate the provision of infrastructure required to accelerate the\nimplementation of policies or execution of programmes on trade and industry\nincluding estates in the district; <\/li><li>assist\nin the establishment and management of rural ansmall-scale industries on\ncommercial basis; <\/li><li>promote the\nformation of associations, co-operative groups and other organizations which\nare beneficial to the development of small-scale industries; <\/li><li>assist\nin offering business and trading advisory information services; <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>(0) facilitate the promotion of tourism in the\ndistrict; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>assist to identify, undertake studies and\ndocument tourism sites in the district; <\/li><li>facilitate private sector participation in the\ndevelopment of tourism in the district; <\/li><li>compile a register of all trade ,\nindustry\/associations in the district; (s) advise on prescription\nof conditions for the operation of markets by the private sector; <\/li><li>assist to regulate and control markets including\nthe fixing and collection of stallage rents and tolls; <\/li><li>advise on licensing of petrol and gas services\nand filling stations in the district; <\/li><li>advise the Assemblies on the prohibition,\nrestriction, regulation and licensing on the: <ul><li>manufacture\n<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>distillation\n<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>sale\n<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>transportation\n<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>distribution\n<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>supply\n<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>possession,\nand <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>consumption\nof any alcoholic beverage including &#8220;akpeteshie&#8221;, palm wine and\nfermented liquors; <\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>assist to provide for the control, regulation,\ninspection, supervision and licensing of: <ul><li>social\nhalls, dance halls and places of entertainment <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>hotels,\nrest-houses, lodging and eating houses, and <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>premises\nor lands where a profession, occupation, trade or business is carried out. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>.(1) The Department of Trade, Industry and Tourism shall under the guidance of the Assembly deal with issues related to trade, cottage industry and tourism in the district.
