The Development Planning Sub-Committee (DPSC) is a mandatory, statutory body within Ghanaian District Assemblies (established under Act 936, Section 85) that deliberates on spatial planning, local economic development, and progress reports. Led by an Assembly member and the Municipal Planning Officer (secretary), it holds quarterly meetings to review action plans, analyze project status, and recommend development projects to the Executive Committee for approval.


Key Functions and Responsibilities
- Plan Preparation: Oversees the creation of the 4-year District Medium-Term Development Plan (DMTDP) and Annual Action Plans.
- Project Monitoring: Reviews progress on ongoing infrastructure and community development projects.
- Resource Allocation: Recommends strategies for local economic development and the equitable distribution of resources.
- Review and Approval: Evaluates quarterly and annual progress reports before recommending them for executive approval.
